Ingredient Glossary
Hyaluronic Acid Crosspolymer
What does it do?
Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a humectant, meaning it draws in moisture from the atmosphere to hydrate the skin (click here to learn more). A Hyaluronic Acid Cross-polymer involves cross-linking molecules of Hyaluronic Acid, creating a mesh-like network and building a layer of hydration in the uppermost layers of the skin that continuously delivers water to the skin. This results in long-lasting hydration, thanks to its ability to hold x5 more water than ‘standard’ Hyaluronic Acid.
Where does it originate from?
Hyaluronic Acid Cross Polymers are chemically bound HA molecules.
When should I use it?
This ingredient can be used day and night.
What skin type is it best suited to?
Hyaluronic Acid Cross Polymers are suitable for all skin types but best suited to dry skin that needs long-lasting hydration.
What does it work well with?
This ingredient works well with low molecular weight Hyaluronic Acid, which can penetrate further into the epidermis (the top layer of your skin).
